While the U.S. might be headed toward a recession, our local economy remains generally strong.
According to the latest economic report for the city, unemployment is still low. It dropped .5 percent compared to last February.
Lubbock posts the fourth lowest unemployment rate in Texas. However, inflation skyrocketed by 4.1 percent over February of last year.
Food and energy costs were also up fueled by rising gas and electricity costs.
