This new business is believed to be the first of its kind. The name is clever and what they do is disgusting. It's located in Cleveland, Ohio, and it's called Nitpickin, Inc. And that's what they do.
They pick nits or lice from the hair of children who are infested with the little critters. A lice infestation can happen to anyone, regardless of income no matter how often they shower or wash their hair.
The theory, according to this business is the only thing worse for a child than having those things crawl around on your head is having your mom or dad pick them off one by one.
A parent who agrees with the slogan says, "It's hard to do on your own kids because they'll scream and yell if you're pulling on their hair so if a stranger does it they're much more cooperative and it goes a lot smoother."
At Nitpickin Inc., they don't use medication. They just bug hunt through each strand of hair with special combs and charge about $65 an hour. The do however give the free advice: Never share hats, combs, scarves or coats. That makes it easy for lice to jump from one head to another.
