The Silver Boot is at stake. On Friday, the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers begin their annual interleague series. Three games are this weekend in Houston. Then, a three game series will be played at The Ballpark in Arlington the last weekend in June.
It's already an attendance success, with big crowds at both ballparks last year. The Rangers and Astros have played exhibition games before, but last year's series was their first in the regular season. They split their series last year and the Rangers took home the Silver Boot based on a 48 - 22 scoring advantage over the 'Stros.
The Silver Boot trophy originated in the early 1990's as part of the annual exhibition game between the two teams.
