Lubbock Independent School District is 100-years old.
To celebrate its birthday, LISD held dedication ceremonies Sunday for Centennial Elementary School and the "Centennial Wall."
The wall stands more than seven feet tall and stretches about 22 feet in length and features four terra-cotta clay panels - each representing 25 years of the district's past.
The wall starts with images of a one-room schoolhouse and regional ties to agriculture and ends with the Space Shuttle Columbia, which was piloted by Coronado High School graduate Willie McCool.
