The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will host two candidate forums for candidates vying for Lubbock City Council Districts 2 and 4. Both events, though not open to the public, will be taped by LISD-TV and offered to local Chamber member media outlets for live or delayed broadcast.
District 4 candidates will face off on April 23 at 6:30 p.m., and a forum for District 2 candidates will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 28.
The format for the hour-long forums will include opening and closing statements. In between, candidates will respond to a series of questions. Each candidate will have an equal amount of time to respond to each question.
"This is a great way for Lubbock's citizens to learn about the issues facing individual City Council districts as well as the entire community," said Gary Gregory, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Chairman.
The forums are hosted by the Chamber through its "LubbockBusinessVotes.com" initiative with support from LISD-TV and the Lubbock High School Future Business Leaders of America's "Promote the Vote" project.
