Walk-A-Thon to Benefit the "Gift of Sight"

If the South Plains Mall seemed a little crowded, it's because the two mile walking path inside there was the site for a Gift of Sight Walk-a-thon, sponsored by Prevent Blindness Texas. The Walk-a-thon was planned on Flag Day as a reminder that we'll be celebrating the Fourth of July soon with fireworks and that fireworks are the reason about 400 Americans every year lose their vision in one or both eyes.

So, Prevent Blindness is reminding us early to leave the fireworks to the professionals. By the way, Texas Tech football stars Kliff Kingsbury and Ryan Aycock were on hand to lend their support and sign autographs.
