A 12-year-old girl is in custody after police say she stabbed someone, and it may have been at her mother's request. Police say two groups of people got into an argument around 3:15 Tuesday morning on 39th Street.
One group, including the 12-year-old, went to a home at 410 39th and kicked in the door. That is when police say the girl's mother, 31-year-old Monica Perez, told her to stab Debbie Torres. EMS took Torres to UMC with stab wounds to the back and arm. Police say two others were also assaulted at the home.
Police arrested Perez and charged her with burglary of a residence. Gustavo Ramirez,21, and Pearl Casias, 28, were also arrested and charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest, and burglary of a residence.
Lubbock Police Captain Greg Stevens says alcohol was involved; they are not sure to what degree. The case is still under investigation.
