A generous donation by three local lawmakers will have one lucky person ridding into Lubbock's Centennial in style.
State Representatives Carl Isett, Delwin Jones and Senator Robert Duncan paid to have the saddle handmade to commemorate Lubbock's 100th birthday.
"Delwin came up with this idea and it's really neat. You'll see the craftsmanship that goes into this product," said Senator Robert Duncan.
They presented the saddle Friday to the Lubbock centennial committee at the American State Bank at 14th and Avenue Q. It was handmade by Texas inmates and has extensive detail and leatherwork carved into the saddle - including a cowboy riding a horse.
The saddle will be auctioned off June 13th at the Lubbock Centennial Cowboy Cotton Ball. The funds will benefit the year long centennial celebration. Until then, you can view the saddle at American State Bank.
