Downloadable Books Now Available from Lubbock Public Library
Beginning April 29th, the Lubbock Public Library will offer free digital audio book downloads to our patrons. This new service makes it possible for you to check out and download audio books at any time, from anywhere. All you need is a library card and a computer.
Getting started is easy. Click here to install the free software, browse the collection, and select titles to add to your cart. Checkout is simple. Just enter a valid library card number and PIN and download your selections to your computer. When the download process is complete, you can enjoy audio books on your PC, transfer them to any compatible MP3 player, and even burn some titles to CD.
The collection offers titles from all genres, including classics, mystery, science fiction, and children's and young adult books. In May, downloadable videos will also be available, made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Library.
Digital audio books are easy to check out and download, and there are never any late fees, because your titles are automatically returned at the end of the two-week loan period.
