Link Up Lubbock Brings Child Awareness Month to a Close

As April comes to a close, so does Child Abuse Awareness month. On Wednesday, the Exchange Club of Lubbock gathered at The Parenting Cottage to "Link Up Lubbock."

With each blue link comes an effort to bring awareness to the problem of child abuse in the Hub City.

"All the chains here represent individual contributions from people all over the community," said Alan Read, President-Elect of The Exchange Club of Lubbock. "There is not a single corporate sponsor involved with this so this is a grass-roots opportunity for people to get involved in making child abuse something of the past."

Read says this year's campaign has tripled the money and more than double the links from last year, but he envisions enough links to wrap a chain of protection around the entire city.
