A voting discrepancy has now been fixed.
On Monday, a staff member with the Lubbock County Office of Elections noticed an error on the ballot for Lubbock ISD District One.
"We discovered there were twelve voters who voted in that race that should not have voted in that race," said Dorothy Kennedy. "That being the case, we corrected it that night and everything rolled out Tuesday and new equipment, it's all been fixed."
Kennedy says the affected candidates were notified.
"I really think that they did a great job," said Mario Ybarra, District One incumbent. "I just wanna go forward with the election and make sure everything is ok.
"They called us, explained it to us and I'm fine with it. I'm comfortable with it," said Oralia "Lala" Chaves, District One challenger. "Folks just need to get out and vote that's what we need to do now."
Kennedy says this is the first time something like this has happened in Lubbock County.
