Tasing Lawsuit Settled Out of Court - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A wrongful death lawsuit against Lubbock police has reportedly been settled out of court.

Juan Nunez III died in April of 2006, shortly after being tased by Officer Matt Doherty during a confrontation in north Lubbock. An autopsy showed that Nunez died as a result of the tasing, a fall and intoxication. Nunez's family later filed suit against the city, saying the officer used excessive force.

The case was scheduled to go to trial on Monday.
