Suspect Wanted in Trooper's Shooting Death Found Dead

The suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of an East Texas deputy was found dead Thursday night. Brandon Wayne Robertson was found dead in Northeast Texas, near Morris Lake, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His girlfriend, and alleged accomplice, Jennifer Lynne Petrick, was taken into custody at the scene.   Robertson was wanted in the shooting death of trooper James Scott Burns who was killed after a police chase Tuesday in East Texas.

A statewide search was launched to find Robertson. Authorities tracked him down using tips from a call line, that was offering a 30 thousand dollar reward.
