It's Food for Thought Thursday, and the Top Performers reign supreme this week. With five tops in all, and just one Low Performer to tell you about, let's see what's on the menu.
They've had the downtown lunch crowd cornered at Broadway and Avenue J for 10 years. Giorgio's at 1018 Broadway has zero critical violations this week, making them a Food for Thought Top Performer. George attributes his four Top Performances to a longtime team that knows what they've got to do. "The reason behind getting these Top Performers, because I have the same guys, one of them have been with me for 10 years, this guy has been with me for three years, so they know what to do. Daily, weekly monthly and then everybody knows what to do and this way we don't have to mess around so it's working out so far," said Shadid.
Continuing with those downtown Top Performances, J&J Barbecue at 1306 Texas has a perfect score this week.
Schlotzky's at 1220 Main is another place with zero critical violations.
Lone Star Beef Jerky is no jerky. They've got a Top Performing certificate coming their way.
Taco Bell at 2312 19th Street is also a Food for Thought Top Performer this week.
On to the only Low Performer this time. Long John Silver's and A&W 2344 19th St is where inspectors found five critical violations. Violations including:
The manager at Long John Silver's and A&W told us all critical violations were corrected on site.
