Local Diamond Star Signs Letter of Intent

Tyler Ward, a former Coronado High baseball player, has signed a letter of intent with Hawaii Pacific University. Tyler was All-City, All-District, All-South Plains, and All-Super Team as the center fielder for Coach John Dudley.

In the past two years, Tyler has been an outfielder for the Midland College Chaparrals. He hit the first homerun in Midland College's history during the inaugural season for the Chaps. During his second year at Midland, Tyler was the Chap's right fielder and was an important part of the team as they won the conference championship in only their second year.

Tyler was offered a scholarship from head coach Allan Sato at Hawaii Pacific University, and he will reside in Honolulu.
