The City of Lubbock Street Department will begin street maintenance on Monday, May 12 on University Avenue between 4th Street and 19th Street.
Crews will be repairing the concrete road in this area in sections, and are expected to start on the east side of University. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes if possible. The work is expected to take two weeks to complete.
Also on Monday, Ronnie Zahn Paving will be starting concrete repair work at the intersection of 56th Street and Aberdeen Avenue. This work will be done as part of the 2008 street maintenance program.
Aberdeen will be closed to thru traffic from 54th Street to 57th Street, so drivers are advised to seek alternate routes. The work is expected to take between 7 and 14 days to complete.
Inclement weather and possible equipment problems could slow progress of these projects.
