If someone near you suddenly became dizzy and had trouble speaking, would you call 911?
A new survey of us adults finds just 44% know that those are important indicators of a stroke. Only 38% said that they would actually call 911 if they thought someone was having a stroke.
Experts say that knowing the signs of a stroke could save someone's life. The CDC says it is critical that if you think someone is having a stroke that you call 911 immediately.
The five major signs of a stroke are:
- Sudden dizziness or loss of coordination
- Sudden confusion or trouble speaking
- Sudden trouble with vision
- Numbness or weakness in the face, arms or legs
- Sudden severe headache
