Independence Bowl Re-Commits to SEC

The Independence Bowl says it has renewed its contract with the Southeastern Conference, so the college football game will continue to match teams from the SEC and the Big XII. The Independence Bowl's contract with the SEC ran out last year after Alabama beat Iowa State 14 - 13.

Texas Tech has taken part in the game twice, in 1986 and 1998. Both times, the Red Raiders lost to Ole Miss, who they'll host during the upcoming football season at SBC Jones Stadium.
