According to a new study from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, there is more evidence that you can live longer if you will say "no" to second helpings.
Researchers believe that a low-calorie diet may actually extend the life of mice even without the benefit of regular exercise. The theory is that a low calorie diet may trigger hormonal changes in the body that appear to extend life spans.
However, researchers say this does not give us an excuse to give up on exercise. Instead, they say exercise gives us an added benefit that physical activity combined with a low-cal diet can help prevent cardiovascular disease while you live longer.
