Click-It or Ticket Campaign To Begin Monday

Saturday afternoon, state and local authorities joined forces with the hope of preventing serious or deadly crashes.

"Between May 19th and June 1st and especially around the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend, local police and state troopers will be drawing the line for Texas motorists, buckle up or face a fine," Randy Hoppman, TxDOT District Engineer said.

This is the 7th anniversary of the Click-It or Ticket campaign. Hoppman says that program has helped raise seatbelt usage from 76% to 91% since 2002.  Again, law enforcement will be out in full force starting Monday through June first, but they say folks should always wear their seatbelts, no matter what.
