After Bostjan Nachbar's pre-draft workout for the Houston Rockets, he was so excited he wrote GM Carroll Dawson and coach Rudy Tomjanovich a thank you letter. Nachbar's wildest wish came true in this week's NBA Draft. After making Yao Ming of China the first pick in the draft, the Rockets used the 15th pick in the first round to take Nachbar, who's a forward.
Yao got more attention, but nobody was more excited than Nachbar when the Rockets picked him. Nachbar recalled watching the Rockets on television, and after visiting Houston, he really liked the team and the city. Nachbar averaged 13.7 points per game last season playing for Benetton Treviso in the Italian League. He had 10 blocked shots and a propensity for dunking. Tomjanovich expects to put Nachbar's quickness to use.
