A popular Lubbock venue has lost its ability to sell alcohol. Sergeant Michael Lockhart of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission says the Lonestar Event Center has been getting catering permits, which is like a temporary license to sell alcoholic beverages.
Now the TABC says the center needs to have a regular permit or nothing at all because they're catering so often it's basically a way to circumvent getting a permit. The owner, Scott Stephenson, says he knows nothing about the situation, but will comply with the TABC's findings.
Stephenson is no stranger to the TABC. He is also the owner of Jake's Sports Cafe, which lost their liquor license in April.
