This Year Could Be Deadliest on Record For Tornados

Meteorologists say the number of people who have been killed in tornados is at its highest total in ten years. According to the National Weather Service 110 people have been killed and 1200  twisters have been reported in the U.S.

Meteorologists believe 2008 is on track to surpass all previous counts of reported tornados making it the deadliest year on record. In 2004 over 1800 tornados touched down in the U.S. So far this year, storm trackers have rated at least 22 tornados a three or higher in strength.
