The man wanted for a Scurry County murder is in custody, after spending nearly a month on the run. Manuel Medrano Junior, 34 now moves to NewsChannel 11's captured wall.
Medrano is accused of shooting Angel Juarez, 37, of Snyder back on May 4th. Scurry County Sheriff Darren Jackson tells us that Medrano and Juarez were involved in an argument with several people when Medrano allegedly pulled a gun and shot Juarez in the neck. Juarez was pronounced dead at Cogdell Memorial Hospital a short time later.
A Scurry County Grand Jury indicted Medrano on first degree murder charges on May 5th. Thursday morning, a deputy with the U.S. Marshall's Office arrested him in Dallas. Medrano will be transferred back to Scurry County as soon as possible.
