25th Annual CMN Telethon This Weekend

For over 20 years, UMC Children's Hospital has been a proud partner of Children's Miracle Network (CMN), an alliance of over 170 premier children's hospitals. Through this partnership, UMC and CMN have been able to provide state-of-the-art medical technology to the children of the South Plains and Eastern New Mexico.

Because 100% of all CMN donations stay in this area, the latest medical equipment and services are being offered right here in Lubbock. CMN has been helping to make miracles at UMC since 1984.

UMC Children's Hospital is leading our region in pediatric care. With the support of CMN, the Children's Hospital treats children with all types of illnesses and injuries including: cancer, birth defects, heart and muscular disease, cerebral palsy, diabetes, burns and accident victims.

As the first pediatric hospital in the region, UMC Children's Hospital has led the way in providing state-of-the-art care and comprehensive services for children. As the teaching hospital for the Texas Tech School of Medicine, UMC has over 30 pediatric specialists on staff.

The UMC Children's Hospital is home to the region's only Burn Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Program, and leads the region in trauma services. A nationally-certified child life specialist is also on staff to help children and their families cope with the physical and emotional aspects of their treatment.

Seeing children go home healthy is the reward for the many dollars and volunteer hours given to Children's Miracle Network (CMN). Each year CMN asks children that have been treated at UMC to share their "miracle story" on the annual KLLL / 96.3 FM Radiothon and KCBD NewsChannel 11 Celebration. These stories help provide a glimpse into the many ways CMN and UMC help to make miracles every day.

The 25th annual Children's Miracle Network Celebration will be Saturday, May 31st from 3 p.m. to Midnight and Sunday, June 1st from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
