A Lubbock man is in custody, after an unusual shooting in central Lubbock this morning. Two men told police they were on their way to breakfast when they were flagged down by a resident in the 4400 block of 42nd Street.
The man was looking for someone, and asked if either one of the men in the car was that man. They said no, and words were exchanged. That's when the man asked them to wait and ran into his house. He allegedly came out with a 12-gauge shotgun, and opened fire.
"The gun was right by the door. He was prepared, he was ready to go," said Justin Sproles. "And it looked like to us he was going for a random car and we would never expect that in this neighborhood. I've never seen anything like that before."
The suspect is now identified as Jacob Justice, 24, a resident on that street. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Police arrested Justice, and confiscated the weapon.
