NCAA Returns to Previous National Championship Pairing System

The NCAA announced this week that it will return to its previous system of pairings for all national championship events ending a one year regional bidding system that was brought about by the events of September 11th.

The NCAA will return to its nationwide system of pairings for all championship level events beginning in 2002 - 2003 and will no longer abide by the 400 Mile Rule when determining regional host sites or competitors. The NCAA changed its process this past season because of safety concerns following the attacks on New York and Washington.
