Alleged Ethics Violations in District Two

Lubbock City Council District Two candidate Armando Gonzales is addressing alleged ethics violations cited in a complaint filed by his opponent, incumbent Floyd Price.

Price filed a sworn complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission on Monday. It alleges Gonzales failed to report different contributions and expenditures on his campaign finance report on several different occasions. One of the largest contributions Price says is not listed on any report is a van registered to Ted Parker. Parker has been involved in a legal battle with the City over an insurance contract.

Gonzales denies ever using a limousine in his campaign, as listed in the complaint. He also tells us a campaign advisor position listed in the complaint is a volunteer, and has never been paid. Gonzales says the Price campaign is trying to distract people from the issues.
