Silent Wings Museum Commemorates D-Day

Saturday, folks at the Silent Wings Museum held a special ceremony and demonstrations in honor of D-Day. A special ceremony dedicated the C-47 on static display at the museum grounds.

Members of the World War II Airborne Demonstration Team and the U.S. 1st Infantry Division living history group also gave interactive demonstrations.

On June 6, 1944 allied forces landed in Normandy, France to begin reclaiming Western Europe from Nazi Germany.  The invasion marked a turning point in World War II.
