Lubbock Police call him a sexually violent predator, and investigators believe he's still hiding out on the South Plains.
NewsChannel 11 first told you about 20-year-old Jeffrey Paul Davis on Friday night. He's wanted by Lubbock authorities for failure to register as a sex offender.
After a weekend on the run, authorities asked us to profile this case on NewsChannel 11's Most Wanted. They hope your tips will lead to a quick arrest.
Davis has been hiding from authorities since May 13th. He was convicted of aggravated sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl in 1999. That makes him just 12-years-old at the time of his conviction. The Department of Public Safety rates him as a moderate risk, meaning he's right in the middle for chances he'll offend again.
"When these guys disappear it's usually not just because they want to leave; they're actually committing some type of criminal acts. So, it's very important we find and locate these people," Lubbock Police Corporal Mark Long said.
Corporal Long says they have information Davis is either in Lubbock, or in Plainview where he has family. Davis is also wanted for questioning by the Secret Service on an unrelated case.
