Snag Delays Progress in 98th Street Construction

Pavement construction on the South Lubbock Drainage Project - Phase I Main Trunk Line continues along 98th Street between Vicksburg Avenue and Slide Road. However, the city reports a snag.

Some of the pavement that was recently placed on 98th Street between Vicksburg and Slide Road did not meet the requirements of the contract and will be removed and replaced at the Contractor's expense. The City of Lubbock apologizes for the delay, but want to insure that the quality of the final product meets the standards that the City Staff and the citizens of Lubbock expect.

Please continue to use caution while traveling 98th Street and Vicksburg Avenue and be aware of the advisory speeds posted in the construction zones of 30 MPH.
