Tobacco Use Increase

If you think tobacco use is going down, researchers at Harvard say that's just an illusion. There has been a recent decline in cigarette sales, but the Harvard team says that's because more people are turning to other tobacco products like cigars, snuff and roll your own tobacco which are not subject to the same taxes.

The highest taxes are on cigarettes which cost about $4.50 a pack. But now the study, also in the Journal of the American Medical Association or JAMA, is suggesting equal taxation on all tobacco products to discourage use in more than just the cigarettes.
