Lubbock Volleyball Club's Under-13 Flamez team defeated Amarillo Razmataz 13s in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Sun Country Region Volleyball Association's regional finals on Sunday May 3rd to advance onto the 2008 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Girls' Volleyball Championships in Dallas, Texas, June 27-30.
This is the first time a team from Lubbock Volleyball Club has earned a spot at Nationals since 2004. The four-day tournament in Dallas is the highest honor for the eight players and coaches of the LVC-13 Flamez. This team of young ladies is one of 48 teams nationwide to play its way into this "top honor tournament." The Flamez will be competing against teams from as far away as Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
The expenses needed to get the players and families to Nationals are overwhelming to a non-profit organization, and Lubbock Volleyball Club needs the community's involvement and assistance to help raise money. This is another great opportunity to promote Youth Athletics in West Texas and put Lubbock in the National spot light once again. Please help the Flamez get to Dallas for Nationals.
