Mavs Summer League Set, Ellis on Board

Three players with NBA experience are on the Dallas Mavericks' 11 man summer league team. That team will compete in the Summer Pro League in Long Beach, California, beginning on Tuesday. Andy Ellis, a 6' 11" center from Texas Tech, is on the squad, which the Mavericks selected after a three day training camp.

The players with NBA experience making the roster are:

  • Tariq Abdul-Wahad -- 6' 6" Guard/Forward
  • Jaren Jackson -- 6' 6" Guard/Forward
  • John Celestand -- 6' 3" Guard

Thomas Hill, a 6' 8" forward who spent last season on the Mavericks' player development staff, is also on the team. Others on the squad are:

  • Lynn Greer -- 6' 2" Guard -- Temple
  • Tyrone Ellis -- 6' 4" Guard -- Southern Nazarene
  • Thomas Hamilton -- 7' 3" Center -- Martin Luther King High School in Illinois (1993)
  • Alex Jensen -- 6' 10" Forward -- Utah
  • Charles Manga -- 6' 10" Forward/Center -- Seton Hall
  • Robert Maras -- 7' 1" Center -- Germany
