Extreme temperatures could be to blame for a road closure along I-27 in Lubbock. TxDot closed the north bound access road along the interstate between 66th and the Slaton Highway. Eastbound traffic is also reduced to one lane.
Engineers say extreme heat most likely caused the road to buckle late Friday. They say repairs could take at least a week to complete. Contractors will begin work immediately.
