Astros Mid-Season Report

The Houston Astros just might make a race out of the National League Central yet. The Astros have won four of the past five division titles.

However, this year, the Astros have spent most of the first half pampering injuries, mixing and matching minor league callups, and fretting over slumping stars. Then, Houston took off and won four straight series, including a 7 - 2 road trip leading into the All-Star break.

Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio are looking like themselves again and Lance Berkman is leading the majors with 29 home runs and 81 RBI's. Houston trails second place Cincinnati by 4 1/2 games and is another two games behind St. Louis for the division lead.
