Ranson Indicted for Intoxication Manslaughter

She is just old enough to buy alcohol, and Tuesday a Lubbock Grand Jury indicted 21-year-old Rochelle Ranson on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.

Police say Ranson's blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit when she hit and killed 55-year-old motorcyclist Monte Wampler.

Investigators say Ranson slammed into his motorcycle on the evening of May 8th at the intersection of 50th and Avenue D. Ranson then allegedly hit a pedestrian, running over the women's legs, as she fled the scene. Police say, four blocks away, Ranson collided with yet another car and fled that scene as well.

Police caught up with Ranson just moments after that at the Super 8 Motel near I-27 and  66th Street. She was taken into custody, and remains in the Lubbock County Jail on multiple charges.
