Thousands of Xcel Energy Customers in the Dark - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Thousands of Xcel Energy Customers from Eastern New Mexico and across the South Plains lost power Tuesday evening because of severe weather.

Wes Reeves with Xcel says about 9,000 customers lost electricity as the company experienced a major transmission outage that supplies power to the sub-stations. Xcel says at least 20 sub-stations were affected.

They tell us, all of their crews are out working to restore power.
