Quick action by bank employees and Lubbock Police put a would-be bank robber behind bars Friday evening.
Police say a woman walked up to the drive-through window at American State Bank at 14th and Avenue Q just before 5:30 p.m.
When she demanded money, the teller tripped the alarm. Another teller heard what was going on and called 9-1-1. But with no money in hand, the robber got frustrated and left.
She didn't get too far though, nearby police were already pulling up to the bank and took her into custody.
Greg Jones, Executive Vice President of American State Bank, says the woman was wearing a jacket, but it is unknown if she was hiding a weapon.
Her name and any charges she may face have not yet been released.
