Governor Perry Appoints Steinmetz to Brazos River Authority Board

Governor Rick Perry has appointed John Steinmetz of Lubbock to the Brazos River Authority board of directors. The board is responsible for developing and conserving the surface water resources of the Brazos River Basin.

Steinmetz is market president for Security Bank. He is a member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. He is also a board member of the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron's Ball and Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, director of finance for Young Life and past president of the Boys and Girls Club. Steinmetz received a bachelor's degree and graduate degree in banking from Texas Tech University.

He replaces Jere M. Lawrence of Sweetwater for a term to expire February 1, 2009.
