Watering and Establishment of Grass in City of Lubbock Parks

Posted:

The City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department has re-seeded four parks in conjunction with improvements and/or drainage projects associated with these parks.

It is necessary to water at times during the day between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in order to establish grass in these parks.

The City of Lubbock's Water Ordinance does allow for watering during these daytime hours when turf and landscaping is first being established.

The parks being seeded are as follows:

  • Aztlan Park, 1st Street and Avenue K - Playground and park renovations.
  • Guy Park, 93rd Street and Memphis Avenue - Playground and park renovations, and drainage projects.
  • Miller Park, Memphis Avenue and Memphis Drive - Playground and park renovations, and drainage projects.
  • Rawlings Park, 40th Street and Avenue B - Playground and park renovations.
