A South Plains pilot escaped a crash landing without injury Saturday morning.
The Department of Public Safety tells NewsChannel 11 that 57-year-old Bobby Dale Rogers of Smyer was coming in for a landing at the Levelland Municipal Airport around 10 a.m. He discovered the right landing gear on his single engine plane was broken, so Rogers tried to land on the left gear.
Troopers say the plane skidded off the runway, and then came to rest up right. They say Rogers didn't have any major injuries. The plane's right wing and nose had minor damage.
