Fatal Accident Near Post

A fatal accident near Post, Friday evening, killed a 58 year-old woman from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Victoria Bates was killed after the side of her car collided with a truck travelling in the same direction on US 84, five miles south of Post. A DPS trooper said Bates lost control of the car, and it came to a rest on the opposite side of the highway. Bates died when she was thrown from the car. The DPS trooper said Victoria Bates was not wearing a seat belt. 

A passenger in the car, 27 year-old Jandra Bates of Abilene, was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
