Authorities Capture Leslie Springer

A tip to NewsChannel 11's newsroom proves that one call can make a difference.  Wednesday afternoon, a viewer called the newsroom, to let us know 54-year-old Leslie Morgan Springer was hiding in Lubbock. We alerted authorities, and they had him in custody a short time later.

"He was wanted out of our county for sexual assault," Crosby County Chief Deputy Stanley Hash said.

Hash contacted NewsChannel 11's Most Wanted to profile Springer. Springer is accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend back in April. Investigators believed he was hiding out in Lubbock, and asked for your help to track down this most wanted suspect.

"We got several tips, and Lubbock County did search for him, but weren't able to find him," Hash said.

Then on Wednesday, one call made the difference, when a tip to NewsChannel 11's newsroom led authorities directly to Springer's location. Now, Springer is behind bars in Lubbock, thanks to your help.

"Absolutely, it works very well," Hash said.

Springer will be arraigned in Lubbock. Prosecutors recommended a $75,000 bond. From here, he'll either go to Crosby County, or Hale County where he has another warrant.
