Council Denies Xcel Rate Increase - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

City Council denied a rate increase for Xcel Energy. Xcel was asking for an increase of about $120 for the average home during the summer months.

Now, the proposal for Lubbock and all of Xcel's Texas cities will go before the Public Utilities Commission. Xcel is seeking the increase to cover higher costs, including transmission lines and inflation.
