As food and gas prices continue to soar, more people are turning to their scissors to save some money. Over the last few months coupon redemption has grown at United Supermarkets.
They say ever little bit helps.
"Yeah because the gas is getting way too high," said one coupon user.
Clipping coupons is becoming more popular in the south plains. Eddie Owens with United Supermarkets says he has seen the increase.
"Overall in the last couple of months we have seen a definite trend upward in coupon redemption," said Owens.
But some people say clipping coupons can be a hassle.
"I don't have time to clip out coupons," said Owens.
But now the Sunday paper is not the only place to get coupons, online sites like Coupons.com and even your local grocery store are starting to become more and more popular.
"We also have a website that we make coupons available through so we would strongly encourage all of our guests to go to our website and download the coupons there," said Owens.
"Every little bit helps especially with the price of gas," said one coupon user.
Owens says united is recognizing the struggle people are going through right now.
"We are very in tune to the economic place we are all in and we are constantly looking at new and better ways to encourage savings for our store guests," said Owens.
