A hostage situation turned fatal for the man who started it on Monday morning. He fatally shot himself after taking his wife hostage in a Wal-Mart east of Dallas. Around 10:00 a.m., the man identified as 38 year-old Anthony Vasquez entered the store in Henderson, where his wife works, and took her hostage in a store bathroom. Once police arrived, they attempted to enter the bathroom. The suspect fired one shot into the door, and a short time later, a second shot was heard. That's when police entered and found the man with a gunshot to his head. Vasquez was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities say that the couple was getting a divorce. The man's wife escaped unharmed.

In Fort Worth, hundreds gathered to remember the lives of three children. The three young victims were found dead in their Hudson Oaks home last Tuesday. Police say the children's mother shot and killed all three kids before fatally shooting herself. Her estranged husband, 38 year-old Manuel Perez, was shot in the back and remains hospitalized in Fort Worth.

Another accident along I-20 ended with seven people dead on Sunday night. Police say an SUV crossed over the median and struck a mini-van carrying a family of seven. The impact of the collision left the vehicles nearly un-recognizable and sent debris all over the road. The female driver of the SUV died in the crash. Four women and two children were among the dead in the mini-van. Officials say at least 33 people have been killed this year in accidents along Interstate 20.

Four people have been charged with stealing moon rocks from the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The suspects were arrested Saturday in Orlando, Florida. Three of the suspects are from Houston and one is from Utah. FBI officials say they were running an undercover operation because they knew someone was trying to sell the rocks. The rocks, meanwhile, have been recovered.
