As Lubbock prepares for its largest convention of the year, one of the hotel housing event goers is in the middle of a burglary investigation.
Lubbock police tell NewsChannel 11 at least four burglaries were reported inside the Holiday Inn at 801 Avenue Q between Tuesday and Friday.
The hotel tells us they were hosting the National Taxidermists Association Convention & Competition this past week.
They say someone broke into several rooms on different days and took laptops, cell phones and digital cameras. The hotel adds the suspect used a key card to get in to the rooms, and they confirm it was not a house keeping card or maintenance card.
The burglaries are under investigation.
Meanwhile, many Lubbock hotels are at capacity this week as Lubbock hosts the largest youth led organization in the nation. More than 10,000 students will be in the Hub City for the 80th Annual Texas Future Farmers of America Convention.
