Police and FireFighters Kept Busy Overnight

Two men robbed the 7-11 convenience store in the 3800 block of 34th at 1:19 a.m. Tuesday morning. They ran out of the building and were picked up by a get-away car. Police stopped the get-away car at 34th and Avenue U. There, they arrested one of the male robbers and the female driver. The other suspect is still on the loose.

Around 3 a.m., a fire caused $18,000 in damage at a house in the 5400 block of 31st St. Marlon Hamilton with the Lubbock Fire Marshall's office says that a candle left unattended started the fire. Hamilton says the residents lit it when the power went out earlier on Monday night. Fortunately, the house did have smoke detectors and everyone got out safely.

    The Slaton Fire Department has confirmed to KCBD they responded to a mobile home fire in southeast Lubbock around 1:30 Friday morning. Buffalo Springs and Woodrow also responded to the scene. The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office says they will provide more information on the incident at 8:00 am.
