The NFL education of #1 draft pick David Carr has taken a new twist, and it's only the second day of training camp. 11 year veteran Kent Graham was supposed to lead the Texans' early charge until Carr could take control. Somewhere between minicamp and training camp, free agent Mike Quinn wiggled into a backup role and Graham has dropped to third string.
Quinn isn't slowing down to figure it out. A perennial backup through four NFL seasons since leading Sam Houston State, Quinn's most noteworthy accomplishment in one season with the Steelers, two with the Cowboys, and one with the Dolphins was his appearance in three Hall of Fame games.
Barring further training camp developments, Quinn will make his fourth trip to Canton on August 5th when the Texans play their first game ever against the New York Giants.
